Reebok High Top Cheerleading Shoe
Reebok high top would without a doubt be my last choice. For school cheerleading our shoes are chosen for us and we have to wear whatever is selected. For multiple years high top reebok have been selected and I would not be the only cheerleader to say that they might as well have bricks taped to their feet. In multiple reviews by cheerleaders on credible cheerleading sites reebok were deemed the "worst cheer shoes ever"
Does it meet criteria?
1. Weight. Weighing what feels like 2 pounds on each foot high top reebok are not at all light weight. It is very hard to jump, tumble, and even move in these shoes.
2. Durability. Due to the one inch rubber sole high top reebok are decently durable shoes. Mine have lasted me multiple years through seasons of football and basketball games, daily practices and competitions. That doesn't mean they can't fall apart though! I have seen a pair or two that have been a little too worn and the leather began to detach from the rubber sole and form holes.
3. Flexibility. Because of the rubber soles, sturdy make and massive ankle support high top reeboks are not flexible at all. It is very hard to point toes and move feet in these shoes.
4. Stunt friendly. To beginner flyers high top reebok are stunt friendly, but they are not necessary. They provide a ton of ankle support that make the flyers feel more sturdy and controlled, so they are a great learning shoe but not for cool crazy stunts because the are so heavy and restricting. For bases on the other hand, the shoes are absolutely awful. They add weight to the flyer and the feet alone so getting kicked in the face hurts that much worse. The bottoms of these shoes have what we say look like little octopus suction cups, but they are very hard cutting the bases hands and knuckles in basket tosses.
5. Appearance. High top reeboks are not the worst looking cheerleading shoes known to man, but they aren't sharp like the others I've listed. They definitely aren't competitive cheer style. These shoes come in multiple colors, not just custom made, so they can also be worn as casual wear to some. They even come in low rise as well.
6. Availability. You can find high top reebok at a number of places, even in Conway. Wilkinson's mall in Conway, Arkansas carries them as well as Shoe Carnival! You can also order them online.
7. Price. Reebok cheerleading shoes are in the $50 to $60 range, so they're pretty affordable.
